Octavia “Tav” Treadway is a business development and strategic operations consultant, speaker, and coach with 20 years of experience in nonprofit management, business development, operations, and organizational development. As the founder of You’re Carrying Something Great, she equips entrepreneurs and organizations with the tools to
stabilize, scale, and sustain their businesses through strategic planning, leadership training, and operational efficiency to create wealth.
Her Be GREAT program helps established businesses progress through the five stages of growth—existence, survival, success, takeoff, and maturity—resulting in increased profitability, productivity, and sustainability. She also developed a business development curriculum, currently taught at St. Paul College, that provides early-stage entrepreneurs with the building blocks to launch and grow their businesses successfully. Additionally, her Boss Up program helps pre-revenue to early revenue business owners refine their strategy, develop leadership skills, and implement operational systems to support growth and long-term success.
Tav is deeply involved in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, serving on the St. Paul Chamber’s DEI Committee and as Chair of the Inclusion and Diversity Commission for the City of Crystal, where she advocates for equitable policies and inclusive economic opportunities.
A dynamic speaker, Tav coined the term "Leadership Fragility," addressing the mindset challenges leaders face when dealing with fear and code-switching.
